HISTORY

A holiday baking must! Santa Claus and the rest of the holiday party guests will all be jolly chomping on these scrumptious Cranberry Thumbprint Cookies. We've been working with Amanda of Stir Taste Smile since 2022 and she has created some fabulous cranberry recipes for us. Her baking skills are certainly impressive. Ingredients

DOUGH

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • Zest of one large orange 
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tablespoon cornstarch 

 

CRANBERRY JAM

  • 1 1/2 cups Cape Cod Select frozen cranberries 
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup orange juice 
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon 


  1. Make the jam first. Place all of the ingredients in a medium saucepan. 
  2. Bring to a boil, and then simmer for 10 minutes or until thickened and is a jam like consistency. Set aside to cool. 
  3. For the cookies, beat the orange zest and sugar until combined. 
  4. Add the butter, beat until fluffy, about 2 minutes. 
  5. Add the egg yolks and vanilla, beat until fully combined. 
  6. Mix together the flour, salt, and cornstarch, slowly add while mixing on slow. Mix until combined and a dough forms 
  7. Using a medium cookie scoop, scoop out the dough, rolling it into balls.
  8. Using the back of a teaspoon measuring spoon, make a deep indent into the center of the cookie.
  9. Repeat until done, place the formed dough onto a cookie sheet into the freezer until frozen.
  10. Once frozen, place 6 cookies on one  cookie sheet at a time. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet.
  11. Fill with cranberry jam and sprinkle with powdered sugar!
